Proofpoint Regulatory Compliance - Ensures that outbound messages comply with many different types of data protection regulations and best practices, including HIPAA, GLBA and PCI. This technology uses pre-defined dictionaries and “smart identifiers” to automatically scan for a wide variety of information.

• Accurately detects a wide variety of personal identifiers, healthcare information and financial information in email and attachments and takes automatic action based on easy-to-define policies.
• Easily define policies and rules, and review potential violations, with a point-and-click interface.
• "Smart identifiers" combine regular expressions with algorithmic checks to ensure detection accuracy and eliminate false positives.
• Included dictionaries of healthcare and financial terms are automatically kept up-to-date.

Proofpoint Content Compliance - Allows companies to define and enforce acceptable use policies for message content and attachments. Content Compliance can be used to identify and prevent a wide variety of inbound and outbound policy violations including offensive language, harassment, file sharing and violations of external regulations.

• Easily create and enforce acceptable use policies including maximum message size, allowable attachments, acceptable encryption and many more.
• Monitor message content and attachments for the most common abuses. Automatically append custom disclaimers or footers to messages.
• Includes pre-built, customizable policies and pre-configured dictionaries such as offensive language.
• Trigger policies based on message attributes, keywords, dictionaries or regular expression matches. Includes language detection and support for multi-byte character sets including Japanese, Chinese and Cyrillic.
